You probably don't, because they didn't want you to know. Read Noam Chomsky's "The Year 501". Yugoslavia broke it's ties with Russia in 1948, when Tito said his historic "No". I was always grateful for that. Believe it or not, I never felt anything like being suppressed by the "regime". I felt safe, happy, and free, like many people. Perhaps, because I wasn't into politics at all. Perhaps that's why I have such good memories about it all...
