... Belgrade ... is situated at the place where the Sava River joins the Danube. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe and, beside Athens, the greatest urban whole of the Balkan Peninsula. The oldest archaeological artifacts from Belgrade area date back to the fifth millennium B.C. The members of a Celtic tribe founded Singidunum in the III century B.C., while the first record of the name Belgrade dates back to 989 A.D. Belgrade is the capital of Serbia, having around 1,6 million residents and is the strongest cultural and economic center.
Facts... You can find tones of it on the internet. But you will have to spend some time there to quite understand it. Maybe that applies to Serbia as a whole. What I hope here is that someone from here, so far from it, will open his/her eyes and not go the usual path, by the flashy advertisements, buy commercial propaganda, buy political deception and misconceptions - that someone will want to take a breath and visit  "the mystery of Balkans".
