The second floor plan is accessed two ways: from the main stairway which opens to the second patio deck. On this level there is a chess alcove with a chess board and two chairs. This is a symbol of the mind navigating the house. The main stairway is reminiscing of the control room on a steam boat, it's all in glass as a symbol of light that navigates a boat. The deck is partially covered by a canopy/third level deck structure. The second stairway leads directly to the two bedrooms with a common bathroom in the center. These bedrooms are for five children in this family - three younger and two teenagers. |
