... Pool Building - Main Floor Plan with Open Pools ...
|
The main floor contains entrance gallery with a feature spiral stair. From there, on the right one enters the wet and dry areas with changing booths, lockers, washrooms and showers, and further the pool area with a small bar, and a hot tub. There is a 25m pool with a 250 seat auditorium. It is accessible to public from outside, but they are separated from entering the pool area. On the left from the entry, one enters the restaurant area that has a vertical connection to the level above. This restaurant is designed to serve both outside public and the pool users, without intermixing them. The kitchen and support areas are located on this level. The 25m pool extends into a shallow pool for kids that is half inside and half outside, and in the form of a stylized baby elephant. Outside, a long playing pool with slides, whirlpool area, "water labyrinth", bridges, simulates a river. This is also connected to the Olympic size pool by a narrow passage. The big pool is equipped with it's own support building, which can both operate separately from the main building and the pools. The whole complex around the main circular plaza is elevated 1.5 m to separate the buildings from the passers by, to provide for overlooking the river banks, and to emphasize the "entry" effect while approaching the buildings. |
